TenPoint is the most complete crossbow brand in America: the fastest production bow on the planet, the best cocking and de-cocking systems in the business, elite triggers, and a value sub-brand in Wicked Ridge that brings Ohio engineering under $600. I have hunted with TenPoint bows for years, shot the 2026 lineup on my own range, and cross-checked every spec below against the manufacturer’s current listings. Here is the honest model-by-model breakdown: what to buy, what to skip, and what nobody else tells you about owning one.

Speeds are manufacturer ratings with the listed factory arrow; independent testing typically reads 5 to 15 fps lower, which is normal across the industry. Prices are current manufacturer listings and move with sales and configurations.

Best Speed: TenPoint TRX Ultra

Speed: 515 fps  |  Price: ~$3,500  |  Weight: 8.4 lbs

Speed: 515 fps with 410-grain Pro Elite 400 arrow  |  Kinetic energy: 242 ft-lb  |  Length: 29.5 in.  |  Width cocked: 6 in.  |  Weight: 8.4 lbs  |  Power stroke: 16.25 in.  |  Cocking: ACUslide MAXX

TenPoint TRX Ultra crossbow

Announced at the start of 2026, the TRX Ultra is TenPoint’s reverse-draw flagship and the fastest production crossbow ever made. The reverse-draw layout pushes the riser toward the shooter, stretching the power stroke to 16.25 inches and moving mass rearward for better balance. TenPoint’s Zero-Torsion system pairs 8mm axles with X-Wide limbs to kill limb flex, and the package includes the ACUslide MAXX cocking and de-cocking system, a 100-yard EVO-X Marksman Elite scope, three ACU-X arrows, a quiver, and a bow hanger.

What I liked: the speed is real. Independent testing clocked it just under 510 fps with heavier 440-grain arrows, so the 515 fps claim with the factory 410-grain arrow is as honest as advertised speeds get. The reverse-draw balance is superb, it points like a much smaller bow, and the EVO-X Marksman Elite is the best package scope shipped on any crossbow this year.

What I did not like: the price, and what the price magnifies: 8.4 lbs before accessories, a trigger that one independent test measured at 4 lbs (crisp, but the heaviest in its group), and 515 fps is more bow than any whitetail requires. This is for the buyer who wants the ceiling, not the sweet spot.

Who it is for: the hunter with an unlimited budget who wants the fastest, most accurate flagship TenPoint builds and will actually use the long-range capability. If that is you, it belongs on your serious hunting shortlist. Everyone else should keep reading.

Best Overall: TenPoint TX Ultra 29.5

Speed: Up to 460 fps  |  Price: ~$2,300  |  Weight: 8.0 lbs

Speed: up to 460 fps advertised  |  Length: 29.5 in.  |  Width cocked: 6.5 in.  |  Weight: 8.0 lbs (with ACUslide MAXX)  |  Trigger: TriggerTech

TenPoint TX Ultra 29.5 crossbow

The TX Ultra 29.5 is TenPoint’s fastest forward-draw crossbow ever and the most decorated crossbow of 2026, sweeping the major independent tests with 50-yard groups just over an inch. It runs Twin-Riser Technology, a custom TriggerTech trigger measured around 2.5 lbs, and the ACUslide MAXX system. TenPoint advertises up to 460 fps; independent chronographs with 440-grain arrows read in the mid-440s for just under 196 ft-lb of energy.

What I liked: this is the most complete crossbow package I have handled. The TriggerTech trigger is the best factory trigger on any forward-draw bow at any price, the ACUslide MAXX makes cocking and end-of-day de-cocking silent and safe, and the accuracy repeats test after test. It is not a one-lucky-group story.

What I did not like: at around $2,300 it is a major purchase, and rigged with scope, quiver, and arrows it hunts at over 10 lbs. Your real-world speed with hunting-weight bolts will be in the mid-440s rather than the 460 headline, which is still devastating.

Who it is for: the serious hunter who wants the single best crossbow on the market and can afford it. My pick for best overall in our Best Crossbows 2026 roundup.

Best High-End Value: TenPoint Turbo X

Speed: 415 fps  |  Price: ~$1,350  |  Weight: 6.8 lbs

Speed: 415 fps with 410-grain Pro Elite 400 arrow  |  Kinetic energy: 157 ft-lb  |  Length: 33.25 in.  |  Width cocked: 9.5 in.  |  Weight: 6.8 lbs  |  Power stroke: 12.75 in.  |  Draw weight: 230 lbs  |  Cocking: ACUslide

TenPoint Turbo X crossbow

The Turbo X is the fastest, lightest bow in TenPoint’s Turbo line and the quiet value play of the premium tier: 415 fps, the full ACUslide silent cocking and safe de-cocking system, the two-stage S2 trigger (3.5 lbs, zero creep), Scope Struts, and the RangeMaster 100 variable-speed scope with aimpoints to 100 yards. Three Pro Elite 400 arrows, a quiver, and a bow hanger ship in the box. Independent testing rated it the most accurate crossbow tested in 2025, with a 1.23-inch group average at 50 yards.

What I liked: the weight. At 6.8 lbs bare it carries like a bow costing half as much, and 415 fps from 6.8 lbs is the best speed-to-weight ratio TenPoint sells. The S2 trigger is excellent, the ACUslide means you never discharge the bow at day’s end, and the RangeMaster 100 is a genuinely good scope.

What I did not like: the 230-lb draw weight is serious machinery that demands respect during assembly and maintenance. The 9.5-inch cocked width is wider than the Ultra series, so tight blinds need a second look. And $1,349.99 is still real money, even as the friendliest price in the premium tier.

Who it is for: the hunter who wants 90 percent of the flagship experience for under $1,400. See how to choose a crossbow if you are weighing forward-draw against reverse-draw.

Best Reverse-Draw Value: TenPoint Phantom De-Cock

Speed: 400 fps  |  Price: ~$1,050  |  Weight: 7.4 lbs

Speed: 400 fps with 410-grain Pro Elite 400 arrow  |  Length: 28.5 in.  |  Width cocked: 8.4 in.  |  Weight: 7.4 lbs  |  Power stroke: 16 in.  |  Cocking: ACUdraw De-Cock  |  Trigger: D1, 3.5 lbs

TenPoint Phantom De-Cock crossbow

TenPoint calls the Phantom De-Cock the lightest reverse-draw crossbow it has ever built, and it is the most interesting bow in the middle of the lineup. You get reverse-draw balance with no front-heavy feel, a long 16-inch power stroke, quieter shots with less vibration, and the ACUdraw De-Cock system with Auto-Brake gear for safe, controlled de-cocking. The package includes the 70-yard Pro-View 400 lighted scope, three Pro Elite 400 arrows, a quiver, and a bow hanger.

What I liked: the balance. Shoulder it against a forward-draw bow and you feel the difference immediately: the weight sits between your hands, which steadies offhand shots. Independent testing chronographed just over 390 fps with sub-half-inch groups at 50 yards, and it won best-for-the-money honors in a major 2026 multi-bow test.

What I did not like: 400 fps is the honest ceiling, making this a 60-yard-and-in deer hammer rather than a long-range specialist. The Pro-View 400 scope sits a tier below the Ultra and Turbo glass, and with 445-grain arrows speed drops to about 380 fps. At around $1,050, be sure you want reverse-draw handling before choosing it over the Turbo X.

Who it is for: the hunter who values balance, quiet shots, and compact handling over raw speed. Read our choosing guide for the full reverse-draw versus forward-draw breakdown.

Best for Most Hunters: TenPoint Titan X De-Cock

Speed: 400 fps  |  Price: ~$800  |  Weight: 7.3 lbs

Speed: 400 fps  |  Kinetic energy: 146 ft-lb  |  Length: 33 in.  |  Width cocked: 9.75 in.  |  Weight: 7.3 lbs  |  Power stroke: 12.75 in.  |  Draw weight: 220 lbs  |  Cocking: ACUdraw De-Cock (5 lbs effort)  |  Trigger: D1, 3.5 lbs

TenPoint Titan X De-Cock crossbow

The Titan is TenPoint’s long-standing best-seller, and the X De-Cock is the best version yet: 400 fps, a redesigned stock and metal barrel that cuts flex and friction, the ACUdraw De-Cock system that cocks with about 5 lbs of effort and de-cocks safely and silently, and the 70-yard Pro-View 400 lighted scope. TenPoint lists it at $849.99, with Moss Green configurations running closer to $800.

What I liked: the accuracy is absurd for the money. In a major 2026 independent test it shot the smallest 50-yard group average of every bow tested, around 1.4 inches, despite a heavy trigger. The ACUdraw De-Cock means anyone in the family can cock and safely unload it. And 400 fps with 146 ft-lb is more than enough for any deer inside 50 yards, where the vast majority of whitetails fall.

What I did not like: the trigger. Independent testing measured it over 4 lbs, and you feel it. It is crisp and safe, just heavy. The Pro-View 400 scope is serviceable, not special; plan an upgrade in year two if you get serious (see our scope guide). At 9.75 inches cocked it is wider than the premium TenPoints.

Who it is for: nearly everyone. Our top best value pick and my first recommendation to beginners: easy to cock, safe to unload, accurate beyond its price, complete out of the box. Pair it with good bolts and broadheads and you are done.

Best Under $600: Wicked Ridge Commander 400

Speed: 400 fps  |  Price: ~$600  |  Weight: 7.3 lbs

Speed: 400 fps with 410-grain Match 400 arrow  |  Kinetic energy: 146 ft-lb  |  Length: 35.75 in.  |  Width cocked: 11 in.  |  Weight: 7.3 lbs  |  Power stroke: 12.5 in.  |  Draw weight: 190 lbs  |  Cocking: built-in ACUdraw

Wicked Ridge Commander 400 crossbow

Wicked Ridge is TenPoint’s value brand: same Ohio engineering and American-built quality, simpler stocks and triggers, much lower prices. The Commander 400 is Wicked Ridge’s best-seller and the most awarded budget crossbow of 2026, pushing 400 fps through an 11-inch narrow bow assembly with the MDX cam system. The package is complete: built-in ACUdraw crank, Pro-View 400 lighted scope, three Match 400 arrows, quiver, and a factory pre-sight at 20 yards. The limbs are Gordon Glass double-laminated, the same limb quality standard as the TenPoint line.

What I liked: the built-in crank. The ACUdraw is integrated into the stock, not a clamp-on accessory, and it drops the 190-lb draw to about 5 lbs of effort. The bow arrives pre-sighted, so your first shots are on paper. At $599.99 this is American-built reliability with a real warranty at a price where most bows are imported and disposable.

What I did not like: one honest limitation: the Commander 400 has no de-cocking function, so at the end of the hunt you discharge it into a target or a discharge bolt. If safe de-cocking matters to you, step up to the Titan X De-Cock. It is also the widest bow here at 11 inches cocked, with a simpler trigger than the premium line.

Who it is for: the budget hunter who wants a proven 400 fps deer killer from the TenPoint family without crossing $600. It anchors our beginner’s guide, and if even $600 is a stretch, our under $500 guide has cheaper options.

Which TenPoint to Skip: The Honest List

The legacy model soup. You will still see the Vapor RS470, Stealth NXT, Titan SS, and Turbo GT on retailer pages and used listings, and our look back at the discontinued Vapor RS470 explains what to check before you pay used prices for one. These are discontinued, and parts and support dry up on discontinued bows. The current lineup beats them on cocking systems alone. Buy current.

The Nitro 505, for now. A landmark bow at 505 fps, but the TRX Ultra does everything it does, faster and more accurately, on the newer Zero-Torsion platform. Unless you find a Nitro 505 at a deep discount, it is last year’s flagship at nearly this year’s flagship price.

The TRX 515 XERO package, unless you specifically want the optic. Same 515 fps bow as the TRX Ultra, bundled with a rangefinding scope that pushes the price toward $4,500. Buy the standard TRX Ultra unless you have already decided a built-in rangefinder is worth it.

Paying full list without shopping around. TenPoint’s direct prices are fair, but authorized retailers regularly discount configurations, especially the Titan X and Commander 400. Check the street price before you click buy, every time.

Buying any of these without registering it. The lifetime warranty only activates if you register within 30 days of purchase. Register the bow the day it arrives.

What TenPoint Does Best

Cocking and de-cocking systems

The single biggest reason to buy TenPoint, and the gap is not close. The ACUslide MAXX on the Ultra series and the ACUslide on the Turbo X cock silently with a few pounds of crank effort and de-cock safely at any point, and the same system came fitted to the discontinued Vengent S440. The ACUdraw De-Cock on the Titan X and Phantom does the same job at a lower price. Ending a hunt by quietly cranking down instead of firing a bolt into the dirt changes your whole routine. Learn the exact steps in our safety guide.

Triggers

The best trigger lineup in the industry, tiered honestly by price. The custom TriggerTech on the Ultra series breaks like a rifle trigger. The two-stage S2 with roller sear on the Turbo X is crisp at 3.5 lbs. The D1 on the Titan X and Phantom is safe and consistent at 3.5 lbs, if heavier feeling. Every one includes dry-fire protection.

American manufacturing and warranty

Every TenPoint and Wicked Ridge crossbow is designed and built in Mogadore, Ohio. Defects in materials and workmanship are covered for the lifetime of the original owner; limbs, scopes, and cocking devices for five years. Strings and cables are wear items and are not covered. You must register within 30 days to activate it. That is a meaningfully better warranty than most of the industry offers.

Accuracy culture

TenPoint bows consistently shoot the smallest groups in independent testing, from the $800 Titan X to the $3,500 TRX Ultra. Twin-Riser Technology, the rail-less ZERO-Trac barrel on the Ultra bows, scope struts, and spine-indexed factory arrows stack small advantages into genuinely tighter groups.

What to Watch

Premium prices are real. TenPoint charges for what it builds. Be honest about what you hunt: a $600 Commander 400 kills whitetails inside 40 yards just as dead as the flagship.

Arrows have rules. TenPoint and Wicked Ridge bows require arrows fitted with the Alpha-Nock or lighted Alpha-Blaze. Other nock styles can damage the bow and void the warranty. Never shoot arrows lighter than the factory recommendation, and never dry-fire. Our bolt guide covers compliant options.

Weight adds up on flagships. The TRX Ultra and TX Ultra 29.5 hunt at 10-plus lbs once rigged. If you cover ground on foot, the 6.8-lb Turbo X or 7.3-lb Titan X will make you happier by day three.

De-cocking is not universal. The Ultra series, Turbo X, Titan X, and Phantom all de-cock safely. The Commander 400 does not: you discharge it at the end of the hunt. Know which system your bow has before opening day.

None of this disqualifies the brand. Compare the field in our Best Crossbows 2026 flagship, our Ravin reviews, our Barnett reviews, and our Killer Instinct reviews.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which TenPoint crossbow is best for beginners?

The Titan X De-Cock. It cocks with about 5 lbs of effort, de-cocks safely, shoots 400 fps with test-proven accuracy, and arrives complete at around $800. If the budget is tighter, the Wicked Ridge Commander 400 at $599.99 is the best sub-$600 entry into the family. Full reasoning in our beginner’s guide.

What is the difference between ACUslide, ACUslide MAXX, and ACUdraw De-Cock?

All three are crank systems that reduce cocking effort to a few pounds and allow safe de-cocking. ACUslide MAXX is the newest, on the Ultra series. ACUslide is the standard version on the Turbo X. ACUdraw De-Cock is the value version on the Titan X and Phantom, with Auto-Brake gear that stops the handle if you let go. The Commander 400’s built-in ACUdraw cocks the bow but does not de-cock it. Our safety guide walks through each one.

Do TenPoint crossbows really hit their advertised speeds?

Close, with the asterisk that applies to the whole industry. TenPoint rates speed with a specific factory arrow, usually the 410-grain Pro Elite 400. Independent chronographs typically read 5 to 15 fps under the advertised number with heavier hunting-weight arrows: the TRX Ultra advertised at 515 fps tested just under 510 with 440-grain arrows, and the Phantom De-Cock advertised at 400 tested just over 390.

Is the TRX Ultra worth $3,500?

Only for a specific buyer: someone who wants the fastest production crossbow ever built, will use its long-range accuracy, and is comfortable paying for the ceiling rather than the sweet spot. For most hunters, the TX Ultra 29.5 at around $2,300 or the Turbo X at $1,349.99 deliver the meaningful TenPoint advantages for far less. Compare them in our Best Crossbows 2026 roundup.

What is the difference between TenPoint and Wicked Ridge?

Wicked Ridge is TenPoint’s value brand: same Ohio engineering and manufacturing, same Gordon Glass limb standard, and the same lifetime warranty structure, with simpler stocks and triggers and much lower prices. The Commander 400 at $599.99 is the proof of the concept.

Can I shoot any crossbow bolts in a TenPoint?

No. TenPoint and Wicked Ridge bows require arrows fitted with the Alpha-Nock or lighted Alpha-Blaze. Other nock styles can damage the string and void your warranty. Stick to the factory arrow weight or heavier, never lighter, and never dry-fire. Our bolt guide lists compliant arrows for every model here.

How good is the TenPoint warranty, really?

One of the best in the business. TenPoint and Wicked Ridge cover defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the original owner. Limbs, scopes, and cocking devices are covered for five years; strings and cables are wear items and are not covered. You must register within 30 days to activate it, and it is void if you dry-fire, shoot underweight arrows, or use non-Alpha nocks. Refurbished bows carry shorter terms.

Which TenPoint should I buy under $1,000?

The Titan X De-Cock at around $800: 400 fps, safe de-cocking, and the best test accuracy per dollar TenPoint sells. The Wicked Ridge Commander 400 at $599.99 is the tighter-budget pick with the same speed. The Phantom De-Cock at around $1,050 stretches just past the line but is worth it for reverse-draw handling. More options in our best for the money guide.

That is the full TenPoint family as I see it after years behind these bows: buy the TX Ultra 29.5 if you want the best, the TRX Ultra if you want the fastest, the Turbo X if you want the smart premium buy, the Phantom if you want reverse-draw balance, the Titan X if you want the best all-around value, and the Commander 400 if you want in under $600. Whichever you choose, register it, shoot the right arrows, sight it in properly, and it will put venison in the freezer.
